The ISLAND Arts Centre Children’s Arts Festival 2018 is back Mon 23 July - Fri 10 August. Young at Art is delighted to be delivering this wonderful festival of creativity. During the Festival’s five day Art Camps young people can create and experience the ideas and processes behind making great art and can co-create exhibitions and exhibit their work. Let's meet the artists behind this year's Art Camps!
Elaine Taylor is a sculptor and established visual artist based in Belfast. Over the past four years she has been involved in a multitude of festivals, events and outreach programmes - designing and facilitating workshops in a variety of mediums and catering for all age ranges and abilities.
For the past two years, Elaine has been a project artist with the Creative Child programme working with children aged 3 to 11 years within their schools on a series of child-led, process-based, creative workshops. These directly support key priorities on child development and education, bringing under-engaged children forward and increasing literacy, confidence, imagination and critical vocabulary.
Elaine thrives on delivering effective, exciting and educational creative experiences that allow children to take the lead and use visual art to express themselves.
