Call for project volunteers ...

Fighting Words Belfast is a new creative writing project launching for children and young people in Northern Ireland in March.

Its aim is to unlock creativity and inspire imagination, using storytelling to encourage self-expression, build creative confidence and foster a love of writing and literature in all who visit.

Fighting Words Belfast will run FREE workshops for those aged six to eighteen.

Participants work collaboratively to write the beginning of a story and continue writing individually, each creating a story unique to them.

The project is based on Fighting Words Dublin826 Valencia and a growing number of creative writing centres around the world.

Fighting Words Belfast is supported by a partnership of Skainos Project, Young at Art, and 174 Trust.

Its patrons include local and international writers Glenn Patterson, Roddy Doyle, Nick Hornby and Dave Eggers.
