Young at Art Collective

Young at Art is very excited to announce the first year of the Young at Art Collective!! Are you a young person aged 7 – 11, who loves drama, art, dance, and all things creative? Then the YAA Collective could be just what you are looking for!

The Young at Art (YAA) Collective is a year-long programme of direct creative engagement with a variety of artistic mediums. The YAA Collective will have access to a diverse range of creative workshops, cultural visits, facilitated discussion and ‘ideas tank’ sessions. Through these sessions we want to empower the voice of the child and place it at the centre of everything we do at Young at Art.

The YAA Collective is FREE to join, but spaces are limited to 15 participants. Involvement in the collective will require commitment to the programme, consistent attendance at sessions, and signing up to the Collective Code of Conduct, which we will co-design together.

Applications are open now for children, aged 7 -11, who would like to join the first YAA Collective! This term will run from March 2022 – March 2023, meeting twice a month (with a break in July and August) for the whole year.

  • Voice-note recording
  • Attend the in-person recruitment day at the MAC Belfast on Sunday 6th February, 11am – 2pm, where you can use our video booth to record your application
  • Written application form

To see what questions we want you to answer, click here, or access the form here.

No matter how you apply, please remember to include a parent/carers contact information.

All applications can be emailed to our Education and Engagement Officer, Jackie at education@youngatart.co.uk or sent to our Facebook messenger https://www.facebook.com/young.a.art.3

Please note: There are only 15 spaces available, so we may receive more applications than there are places. The selection process will aim to represent a diverse cohort of participants for the collective. At Young at Art we strongly believe that every child has the right to access exciting and original creative experiences, regardless of who they are or where they come from and we would particularly welcome applications from minority ethnic and migrant backgrounds, and people with disabilities.

If you have any questions about the YAA Collective or the recruitment process, please get in touch at education@youngatart.co.uk
