Current Projects

Printmaking, 2005
Since its inception, Young at Art has worked with schools (from nursery to A-level) on a range of projects. Currently its main provision is through the Belfast Children's Festival and its online resource Toolbox.
More of it than we think
More of it than we think is an exhibition of artwork by children and young people in groups and schools throughout Northern Ireland .The project has been sunning for over 4 years and will run again in 2010 festival. Young at Art has selected work from two groups to feature in the 2010 exhibition; Kids Own project - 'Further Afield' and WheelWorks Light Writing Project.
Placements
Young at Art is supportive of young people exploring careers in the creative industries. Where possible, we welcome the opportunity to host placements and offer career talks.
Young at Art in partnership with the Old Museum arts centre is coordinating a project called the Youth Panel for 14 - 18 year olds to advise on their future cultural provision. If your pupils are interested in this or the festival's Young Volunteers programme, please see Getting Involved or contact us for further details.
Information sessions
Young at Art staff are happy to attend staff and PTA meetings and provide information about how Young at Art and the Belfast Children's Festival can help arts provision in your school (during and after school). Young at Art also welcomes opportunities to distribute information to parents through schools, or work with schools to sell tickets in the local community.
Young at Art is currently plannning an information session in March 2010 for interested teachers to hear about the events taking place in the 2010 Belfast Children's Festival.
